I went to Aus ed again yesterday with the intention to fill up some other form for other university options. So we, me and an ass hole mum went there and she just start braggin about monash, asking about the same questions over and over again....man, cant she just take a break?! besides, we were there to ask about OTHER universities. Anyway, after much asking the whole world about monash and also telling the world that she intends to send me to MONASH MALAYSIA, she had to go for a dental appointment. *yay*...finally, she left. I was still at Aus ed talking to the guy about stuff.
Well I kinda found out that Monash malaysia (not sure about Aus one) is not excatly offering the course I want. You can see based on the majors, it's more for journalism. They have three major u can choose that is writing, communication and some other shit that is no point looking into it. Writing as we all know is about writing, journalism and yada yada yada. As for the communication, it's mainly non-techinical, which means to say you can aqquire it when you go out and work like PR and stuff like that. In that major there are only 2 units which are techinical, which means to say that it's something you have to go through a course to know. 2 miserable ones out of so many units...
It's filem and media and advertising that is going to be a learned skill besides jornalism (which i don't really think I'm cut out for it) in communication area. well I want to be in the entertainment sector. My mum asked ma cuzie hu grat frm Monash, she never even heard of monash offering the course! Well the course I'm intending to take is off the main campus in Aus where uni-s usually don't put as much importance to the ones in main campuses. It's totaly nut case. We can see that monash is not good for communication already tou it's in the group of 8 and yet, they still want to put me there. I've been thinking the whole night through and monash isn't the correct uni to go...well I feel....
I am thinking of QUT in brisbane (since they still insist in aussie) but it doesn't offer twining. We can see that they offer more in this creative industries. QUT may not be in the group of 8 but it's more like a modern uni which suits communication. I duno about their other courses but definately QUT is way better compared to Monash in terms of the course I want.
Another option is Uni SA. They are twining with taylors. But I am not very sure about what they really offer (to be specific). Talyors has been in the edu line for so long and I believe the would choose good partners for their different schools (faculty). LIke the last time I went to taylors to hear what they have to say, they claim that Uni SA is one of the best for communication. I checked out their ranking, they are far off frm Monash. BUT if taylors can patner with them, I don't see a reason that they are lousy in communication. Well they could have patner with Mel u or even QUT or RMIT (not very sure). But on the other hand, I want to take (if my TER is willing) a double degree. Communication and business which the school of communication in tayloras do not offer.
Argh...life sucks...I dun even noe what to do...
